Most cancers in children have good outcomes if they are detected early. In India, most of these cancers are either detected late or missed at the peripherals and the treatment is often delayed. We need this bridge to move forward to connect and improve survival. There is a huge difference in the survival of children in developed countries and low or middle-income countries. Even in India, there is a difference in the survival of these children because of various reasons

The management of childhood cancer requires a well-coordinated network providing multidisciplinary care. The first optimized treatment of stroke for cancer in children has shown to have a better outcome. Better planning with the required diagnostic procedure, receiving treatment on time, and improved clinical care at various levels and follow-up have made a significant difference in the lives of the children. This is achieved with a multidisciplinary care model which brings doctors from various specialties together for treating a child with cancer.

Cancer Kids strength of smile charitable trust is an initiative to bridge the gap between cancer care for children, available resources, and the caregiver. It is a platform to create awareness about childhood cancer, ensuring early detection with the aim of the timely initiation of treatment. As it is closely connected to the doctors’ community providing care for these children; the facilities, technology, and being updated with the latest research helps the doctors to provide a standard of care.

For every right effort made together, a child with cancer gets hope to survive.

Cancer Kids strength of smile charitable trust is an initiative to bring children suffering from cancer and the doctors taking care of them in a close-knit connection. The emphasis is to reach remote areas and be able to connect with parents, and clinicians to be able to manage these children with the best utilization of the nearby available resources.

The connectivity, in the long run, will help us to improve the standard of care and outcomes in these children across our country. It will also help various peripherally working health care workers to be aware of symptoms, provide basic care and diagnostics, management, and help with follow-up and post-treatment care for these children. This will ease out the burden of families who travel to far places to get the required care for their children. We are growing, as we get connected to more doctors the stronger the network will become. We believe that with this network we all will be able to provide care for children with cancer beyond boundaries.
